Farewell Wendy, and hello Vicky, @ 08:22 pm

My old computer, Wendy, ceased working abruptly about two weeks ago. She was a very nice computer, and such a special peer for me. Good-natured, patient, clever and obedient. Wendy and I have been getting along so nicely with each other for a pretty long time. I was so sad I had to say good bye to her.

My new computer came to my house the other day. I've been struggling with her since then, and manage to handle her at last. She is a bit whimsical and mischievous.*s* I call her Vicky. Like Anne of Green Gables, I love to give names to my favorite things. I totally agree with Anne's opinion about names.

Anne said, "Oh, I like things to have handles even if they are only geraniums. It makes them seem more like people. How do you know but that it hurts a geranium's feelings just to be called a geranium and nothing else? You wouldn't like to be called nothing but a woman all the time."

Likewise.^^

My Favorite Poem @ 02:24 am

Percy Bysshe Shelley

To ——

ONE word is too often profaned
    For me to profane it;
One feeling too falsely disdain'd
    For thee to disdain it;
One hope is too like despair
    For prudence to smother;
And pity from thee more dear
    Than that from another.

I can give not what men call love:
    But wilt thou accept not
The worship the heart lifts above
    And the heavens reject not,
The desire of the moth for the star,
    Of the night for the morrow,
The devotion to something afar
    From the sphere of our sorrow?
